Every Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) has:
- 1) a Covenant, which is a document committing the partners to working together. It says what they will do and why they will be doing it. It is a public statement of faith in their future together.
- 2) a Constitution, which defines how it works. Each separate denomination has its own rules and ways of working, but an LEP has to decide how two separate local entities can be merged without doing violence to the parent Churches’ rules (which sometimes have legal force).
The Constitution was agreed by all the Partnership churches in November 2010 and is now our effective basis of organisation.
